What is Accreditation?
Accreditation is a process where public and private childcare providers voluntarily agree to submit to extensive investigative measures to prove that they are performing up to and beyond the national standards of quality currently enforced by national childcare organizations.
Accredited childcare providers offer services beyond minimum licensing standards. The administrators and personnel of these facilities are committed to their promise that their children will receive only the highest quality of care, education, and stimulating activities available today.
Caregivers in many accredited programs take part in on-going child development training. Specially educated caregivers are more likely to understand children’s needs at different ages, plan appropriate activities, and interact with children in a warm, motivational manner. They supply children with positive skills and guidance rather than harsh disciplinary methods.
Parents who choose accredited over non-accredited childcare programs are happy, satisfied, and confident in their choice.
Why is Accreditation Important for my Child?
Choosing a childcare provider is one of the most important decisions we make as parents. Accreditation promotes improved educational and developmental growth, providing good health, safety, and a strong emotional and physical foundation for our children.
